Todo esto sin olvidarnos de que aquellos que como yo son fans de la serie Juego de Tronos o de la saga de libros de George R.R. Martin ¡Tendremos la oportunidad desentarnos sobre el mismísimo Trono de Hierro y hacernos una foto inolvidable! Algo que ya te conté en mi anterior entrada de blog. Yo te aseguro que no voy a perder la oportunidad de sentirme como toda una Kalesi, ya que el trono estará durante todos los días que dura Temps de Flors, en el hall del Hotel Ciutat de Girona. Para que lo puedas localizar fácilmente, aquí tienes un plano con todos los puntos que conforman el recorrido de Temps de Flors; tan solo has de localizar el punto 125 y ya tendrás ubicado al Hotel o, lo que es lo mismo, al ¡Trono de Hierro!
Podría extenderme páginas y páginas hablando de Temps de Flors pero, siendo una celebración tan experiencial y visualmente cautivadora, lo mejor es que vengas a vivirla por ti mismo. Así que ya lo sabes, del 11 al 19 de mayo tienes la oportunidad de gozar con todos tus sentidos una de las festividades más hermosas que he tenido la oportunidad de descubrir a lo largo de todos mis viajes. La llegada de una nueva primavera 

Me gusta mucho el título del libro, describe perfectamente esta idea de aquel que construye su propio destino. Lo encuentro cercano, a pesar de todas las diferencias que se os puedan ocurrir, a la energía que tenemos quienes viajamos y sentimos nuevos y desconocidos lugares como propios. Me pregunto si esto tiene que ver con un deseo de cambiar quién eres y convertirte en otra persona.
Soñar, sí, pero con los pies en el suelo. Y la lección que me transmite esta historia es que podemos soñar tanto como deseemos, siempre que estemos dispuestos a trabajar duro.
En el aire resuenan nombres: Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Rita Hayworth... también personas que habían forjado una nueva identidad. Me pregunto hasta qué punto aquellas estrellas ya no eran quienes habían sido una vez, convertidas en dioses y diosas de Hollywood. Me temo que aquí Mr. Leon jugaba un papel importante y personal, tal como os he explicado, al tener los pies en el suelo y saberse al fin y al cabo una persona con las mismas emociones, alegrías y tristezas que cualquier otro. Con la misma necesidad de tener amigos sinceros.
Con todo, los misterios: ¿Qué tendría Jean Leon que disfrutó de la amistad sincera de aquellos nombres míticos del Hollywood de los años 50? No todo puede ser explicado. Hay personas y lugares que te atrapan, con y en los que te encuentras bien, a los que quieres volver o de los cuales incluso no querrías marcharte. Ahora que lo pienso, como el <a href="/en/#" class="" title="Hotel">Hotel</a> para el que escribo estas líneas. ¡No veo otro lugar mejor donde volver después de mis escapadas!
Encuentros como este reavivan mis ganas de vivir para encontrar nuevas amistades, nuevos lugares, nuevos amigos. Y al volver, una habitación acogedora, un buen libro y un vino generoso.

Jean Leon en el HCG

Hummm ¿Mar o Montaña? Ambas opciones me seducían bastante, pero cómo venía de una caminata más rural me apetecía aproximarme un poco al Mediterráneo, así que me decanté por la propuesta de la esencia de Costa Brava, una deliciosa mezcla de aromas entre los que destacaban el anís verde, tila, algas, melisa, romero y la hierba luisa ¡Y sí! Te puedo asegurar que me supo tan delicioso como suena.
Este fue el segundo descubrimiento del día, tras el de Madremanya. Pero la cosa no acabó ahí… Lo cierto es qué tras disfrutarlo como una niña, me acerqué al mismo chico que me había recomendado estas infusiones para agradecerle la recomendación, ya que me había fascinado y sorprendido su sabor. Al verme tan entusiasmada, él me explicó algunas cosas más de Tegust; y cómo a mí me apasiona profundizar en todo aquello que me gusta ¡quedé encantadísima con la información!
Al parecer, uno de los objetivos principales de esta marca de infusiones, es la de promocionar y poner en valor los aromas, flores y plantas de las comarcas de Girona a través de sus productos. Para ello ofrecen dos líneas de infusiones ecológicas, dependiendo del origen de las plantas y hierbas utilizadas: Costa Brava Essence y Pyrenees Essence.
Mientras que la línea de Costa Brava Essence centra su concepto e inspiración en la vida auténtica de la gente del mar de las costas gironinas, Pyrenees Essence, recoge sus esencias de la naturaleza, el frescor y la intensidad del Pirineo de Girona. Sin lugar a dudas toda una declaración de intenciones en lo que a fomento de los modelos sostenibles y de proximidad que tanto me gustan, dentro de una marca preocupada por el territorio, que ha sabido fusionar creatividad y gastronomía.

Descubriendo y disfrutando de las infusiones ecológicas en Girona

El próximo 18 de julio abre el Tempo, un festival muy especial en el corazón del casco antiguo de Girona. Este evento cultural donde música y gastronomía se acompañan en sencilla y plena armonía es, además, esponsorizado por un buen número de empresas y entidades de la Ciudad entre las que figura el Hotel Ciudad de Girona, con el que ya sabéis que tengo una buena armonía ¡en este caso, narrativa!
En el Tempo estuve el verano pasado. Tuve la, diría suerte, pero la palabra 'suerte' no llega a describirlo... más bien la vivencia acelerada que me proporcionó mi buena, alocada y muy querida amiga de Montjuïc, Paula, que me regaló unas entradas sin darme opción ni a planteármelo. Y este regalo llevaba otro, su grupo de amistades que pude conocer en el transcurso de los días del festival; Y Marc, que ahora también es mi amigo. Esto sí que es suerte, ¿no creéis?

Girona debe aspirar a ser una ciudad ecosostenible ¡En realidad todas las ciudades deberían aspirar a ello! Sobretodo aquellas ciudades que tienen más densidad de población o turismo y, por lo tanto, una mayor responsabilidad. Por suerte, existen muchas personas, entidades, marcas y empresas que trabajan activamente por reducir la contaminación en sus espacios de actuación. Por suerte para mí, y para la ciudad, el Hotel Ciutat de Girona se esfuerza continuamente en idear estrategias y soluciones que refuercen ese compromiso medioambiental y social. Por ejemplo, una de sus últimas propuestas es la de promover el uso del transporte público entre los clientes que lleguen al hotel, con un descuento sobre su mejor tarifa publicada, tan solo presentando el billete de tren o autobús en recepción ¡¿No es una idea genial?!

Moviéndome de manera sostenible por Girona

The legend of Sant Jordi says that many years ago Montblanc, a little town in the mountains in Catalunya, was terrorized by a fierce dragon. To prevent him from attacking the village, every day the villagers gave him a resident to eat. Unfortunately, one day, the chosen person that ran out of luck was the princess, the King’s daughter. When she was heading toward the dragon, a daring knight, Jordi, appeared. He fought against the fearsome dragon and defeated him with his sword.  From the dragon’s red blood soaked into the ground, a bush of bright red roses sprang up. The knight plucked one and offered it to the princess. This is the reason why on this day, not only books but also roses are offered to loved ones.
As usual, I plan to stay at <a href="/en/#" class="" title="Hotel">Hotel Ciutat de Girona</a>, a place like home for me. Its location in the historic city center of the city is a plus for travelers, since they will be surrounded by the book stalls in the streets and squares on such a special occasion. I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be! I greatly look forward to finding books with which to continue improving my Catalan. I am eager to enjoy the flower stands at Rambla de la Llibertat and Plaça Catalunya, and to see the balconies decorated with senyeres (flags). 
In the meantime, I encourage you to visit the city on those dates. It will be an unforgettable experience. If you decide to go, who knows, we may bump into each other while leafing through a book.

But ... this is not the only joy that sport has offered us this year! I must admit that, as a slightly archetypal Scotswoman, I don’t follow much basketball (as I said, I am very much into football instead), but the ascent of <a href="https://basquetgirona.com/senior/cat/.html" target="_blank">Bàsquet Girona</a> to the ACB League has touched the hearts of all of us. Thank you, Girona and thank you, Marc Gasol! According to my friend Roger, 14 years ago a team in the city called Akasvayu Girona disappeared, so this promotion represents a new milestone and a reason for pride.
But in reality, the reason for this article is not to offer you sports information that most probably you already know. Without a doubt, the main meeting point is the Parc de la Devesa, which houses during these days the largest water slide in the world, 75 meters high, no less! From all points of the city, you will be able to see the centenary banana trees of the devesa sticking out above. If you have never been to this park during Fires you will be speechless when you see dozens and dozens of attractions placed among the trees.
But this is not the only options that the city has to offer during these festivities: From concerts at La Copa with the traditional barracks managed by different Girona entities, to food fairs, handicrafts, antique shops, drawing and painting, among others.  We continue towards the Alemanys gardens. Located next to the Ancient City Walls, these gardens are a peaceful space where history and nature combine. The view from here is spectacular: the cathedral, the Basilica of Sant Feliu and the rest of the city unfold before your eyes. Also, spring is the best time to visit, as everything is in bloom and the bright green of the trees contrasts with the stone of the walls. 
Finally, Parc del Migdia, located in the south of the city, is another of my favorite places. With play areas for the little ones, recreation areas and a large pond, this park is ideal for a family day out. There is also a cafe where you can have a drink while enjoying the views of the city.
Girona is a city where nature is present in every corner. Whether in the heart of the city or on the outskirts, you will always find a place to relax, read a book or simply enjoy the scenery. So, if you’re in Girona this spring, don’t forget to visit these green spaces. I’m sure you’ll love them as much as I do.

Discovering the green spaces of Girona: a spring odyssey
