Walking into the room and feeling a fresh, quiet, and pleasant atmosphere may seem like an everyday gesture, but to me it’s a subtle luxury. Hotel Ciutat de Girona has replaced its old chiller with two state-of-the-art units. You may not see them, but you certainly notice their effects: less noise, more comfort, and, above all, a step forward in energy efficiency.

Why is this change so important?

As I sat in the lobby with a freshly brewed coffee, I realized there are comforts we often take for granted: the cool air brushing your skin as you enter the room, the peaceful silence that embraces you after a day strolling around Girona, or the certainty that every detail has been thought out so you only have to enjoy.

This new chiller plant is exactly that: one of those improvements you may not see, but you do feel. ???? It’s the difference between a simple place to stay and a space where everything invites you to relax and take care of yourself, while also caring for the planet. ????✨

European support, present in Girona too

What I loved most is knowing that this project was made possible thanks to financial support from the European Union, through the Next Generation EU funds and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. For me, it’s inspiring to see how collaboration between institutions and hotels translates into tangible benefits: more sustainability, more comfort, and more quality in travelers’ everyday experiences.
